Quicknhealthy Avalose Podi

Avalose podi is a snack which is made amongst kokosnoot too roasted rice flour, too a hint of ginger too cumin. It is served as-is amongst a sprinkle of sugar, or amongst mashed bananas too warm milk, or every bit a combination of all of these.  It is a staple snack from Kerala, which many of us malayalees mightiness think fondly every bit an after-school snack.



Like many other regional delicacies, I bring never tried making the master copy version :), I bring alone tasted versions made yesteryear dissimilar people I know.  This i hither is a quicknhealthy version, too that is non surprising right:-). In this version, I am using flattened rice (aka poha) instead of rice, too I am using dates instead of sugar. As ever I try to role every bit much of organic ingredients every bit possible. Here is a vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free too nut-free snack.

Ingredients: 

Directions:
  • Powder flattened rice using a dry out blender.
  • Dry roast inwards a heavy bottom pan on medium estrus for most fifteen minutes, or till slightly turning brownish too dainty olfactory holding starts coming. 
  • Dry roast the kokosnoot till golden brown. 
  • If using fresh ginger, dry out roast till excess wet is absorbed.
  • Let everything cool too pulverisation inwards batches to larn a coarse powder. 
  • Store inwards airtight container. 
Serving Suggestions:
  • Just similar that, savor spoonfuls :-)
  • Serve amongst sliced banana and/or warm milk every bit a filling snack or every bit a breakfast.
